We headed up to the north unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park today. We also went to Fort Union and Fort Buford. We did a fair amount of driving but it was worth it to see these places. In TRNP we saw a large herd of Bison on parade which presented quite a good opportunity to get some pictures. We also had nice sun. I would guess there were upwards of 75 individuals in this group. There were plenty of calves. It was pure luck we got such a close view. When we passed passed by this place again the critters were way out in the fields beyond useful camera range. I am sorry to report, however, that there were no deer nor antelope to be seen let alone be observed engaged in recreational pursuits.
