Today was a travel day. We left Atlanta about 6:30, beating the traffic and pretty much high-tailed it north to Kennett Square. We went through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania to get there. We travel up Highway 81 to avoid the Washington DC area. It is a pleasant drive. In all it was about 750 miles, a pretty long day.
Our objective was to visit these folks pictured in this family picture from last year. In the intervening time, the family has increased by two. Andrew and Austin have joined the crew. They were born on September 7, about 9 weeks premature. It seems that everybody is in good shape, but they will be in the NICU for quite a while. We had told Richard and Christiane that if they need any help at all, we would be happy to come up and give them assistance. So here we are. It will be an interesting experience and we are looking forward to doing whatever they need to be done. It is great to be retired!!
