We had a very interesting day. We took a bus ride 90 miles into Denali National Park to Kantishna Lodge for lunch then returned. This was a 12 hour sojourn. I can hear you thinking,"Who would want to sit on a bus for that long?" Well there were a lot of things going on during the trip. The biggest thing was critter watching. There were many interesting critters to be seen. We saw Dall sheep, hoary marmots, caribou, prairie dogs, moose, grizzly bears, golden eagles, arctic terns and some others which escape me right now. The weather was magnificent in the morning, and we could see Mt. McKinley all along the way. That is unusual. Many people come to Denali and never see the mountain. Today's photo is of a moose and her young one. You can see the baby's ears right behind mom. Everybody thought that was pretty cool. Apparently everybody on the tour is as easily amused as I am. We got back to the hotel about 8:30 and went right to our room and hit the rack pretty quickly. All in all, a very good day.
