Ginny inaugurated the new "Travel Central Command" desk. This is the position from which she works when putting together her travel itineraries. The work she does is astounding. If you want an example of one of her itineraries, give me a shout and I will email it to you. This also serves as "Ebay Central Command."

As I had mentioned before, we got Ginny a new computer and printer. It is really a giant step forward. I was apprehensive about a Windows 8.1 machine, but so far it has been just fine. The computer itself is an HP All In One. It has a HD (1920X1080) 23 inch screen that is very good. Once all the old stuff was ripped out, installation was a snap. Only two things to hook up; power and ethernet. It has wireless mouse and keyboard. The new HP Laserjet 400 series printer is WiFi enabled and is linked into our router. Only a power cable for that one. We ended up with a very clean installation. I like it.

First of all, we have 8.1, which I understand restored the desktop which we are all so familiar with. Ginny likes the desktop, so that is what we use normally. The windows "tiles" are like apple products, and work OK. you can customize the start screen to include whichever icons you want to have. It is different, but it seems to work OK once you get it where you want it. The one thing I hate is that it wants you to "share" with millions of other people and I just don't want to. I don't give a damn what anybody else is doing, and I don't want to let anybody else know what I am doing. I just do not fathom the urge people seem to have about "sharing" crap and "following" others. Jeez, these people ought to get a life.

Bottom line, I can live with the new windows, but I sure would like to have XP back!

I'm curious to know how you and Ginny like the Windows 8 user interface.
