January 28, 2014

We had another spate of cold weather. This time there were ice pellets in addition to the light rain. The temperature hovered around freezing all day long. Normally, I don't give too much thought to the weather, but today was different. We had tickets to a show downtown called "We Will Rock You." You might think of it like Tommy, but music by Queen and not The Who. Ginny was really concerned that the roads were going to be bad. Fretting is one thing that Ginny is the all time female champion of. (Prepositions aren't to end sentences with.) Well, a lot of schools and businesses were closed today. I looked at the traffic maps on the internet and all the major roads were green. When we headed out to the Hobby Center for the show, the roads were fine and they were almost abandoned. So we got to the show with no problem. It was a good show with lots of good music. I am sorry, though, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is a lot better than the stage version. And so another day of excitement drew to an end. The ride home was enhanced for Ginny because the van has heated seats and it was quite cold when we got going.

I keep my seat warm with the green option.
That's the first time I have used that term and meant it.
Probably the last as well.
I digress, sheepskin seat covers, are so very warm and comfortable.
Although it is rarely below zero here.

The heated seats come in a bundle that includes the options we really wanted. These marketing guys are geniuses.

My perception of Texas has never been one of needing heated seats.
I learn something new every day.
