We visited a very interesting place in Philadelphia: the Simeone Automotive Museum. It houses a bunch of interesting cars, mostly racing cars over the years. Now I don't know much about cars, but these are very cool. Most of them are preservation cars, that is they are not restored. They are in the kind of shape they were when they left the track. I found this one, a 1954 Austin-Healy 100-4 to be one of the most interesting. Some guy bought it off the showroom floor and headed out to the Bonneville salt flats and proceeded to set records. You can't take anything out of the showroom these days and expect any kind of performance that would be noteworthy. And so we had a great day. |
