As Agent Ginny and I were walking the streets of St. Louis during our (well deserved, mind you) fifth R&R road trip of the year, she had a certain feeling of uncertainty that we were under surveillance. Sure enough, we looked up and one of them had their beady little eyes focused on us. As you might imagine, agent training kicked in immediately and I documented the encounter and forwarded it to galactic HQ. We also sought refuge immediately, but alas there were no Budweiser comfort stations and bomb shelters anywhere near our position. We chose a large stone building (Old Courthouse) and ducked inside pretending to enjoy the art exhibit. When we felt the coast was clear we exited the building and returned to the car by another route. You can never be too careful out there. They are everywhere. I shudder to think of the ones we have missed. Agent Listorama knows only too well that red sandstone can disguise some very clever beings. |
