We drove up to Charleston, SC today and met up with our friends Steve and Bettie who we met on our European river cruise last fall. The weather was pretty crappy, but it was fun to rod around the town. This home caught my eye. Charleston was devastated by Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Building codes were changed in some areas to requite the house be above the level of the ground. This guy went so far as to build a hurricane proof house. We'll see.
