We spent the day in Tallahassee and had a lot of fun. Tallahassee is a pretty small town for a state capital. It is easy to get around. There is only one traffic jam that we could find and it was only two or three stoplights long. The Tallahassee Museum was fun. It is an outdoor exhibit with animals (red wolf, bald eagle, wild turkeys, etc.) and interesting historical farm buildings. The site also includes a zip line course and a fairly active children's program. I guess you gotta put a lot of stuff together to stay in business. We also stopped by the Museum of Florida history and the Knott house. At the end of the day we went to the Lake Jackson Mounds Archeological site. Although it was a nice wooded place for picnics, it was just as advertised, two huge mounds built by the Indians. Not much interpretive stuff there, so it wasn't too exciting. We ended the day back at the hotel with Subway sandwiches and a nice bottle of wine. Again. I could get used to this.
