This morning we headed over to pick up Ginny's high school friend Bev and then headed out to see stuff around Bend. Our first stop was the High Desert Museum which was really quite good. One of the shows was a raptor exhibition. It was very well done. They had trained the birds to fly back and forth over the audience to various perches which allowed some very interesting views of the birds. After the show the handlers brought the birds out for a closer look. This one is an American Kestral. We continued on our travels and went for a nice hike through a mile long lava tube. It was very cold and dark inside. It was a lot of fun. The cold was a welcome break from the 100F temperature above ground.
