One of the major improvements I planned to make to the Swift was the installation of rubber baffling material to replace an aluminum plenum cover. This was a tedious process since I had never done it before on this airplane. It turned out great. The top of the cowling fits pretty close to the top of the engine compartment. The rubber provides a seal which forces cooling air downward over the cylinders. When we put the cowl cover on and looked inside, it was a work of art. I am very optimistic this configuration is going to work very well. We are getting close to first flight. I think Friday is the day. All that remains now is a few lubricating squirts here and there then putting all the fairings and inspection panels back on the airplane. I am starting to get excited!
