I have finally got busy working on the Swift. As I start to get things going I am always finding things that need attention. The current effort is directed at the seat backs. They are cracked near the bottom. I purchased a new (used) seat back for a replacement and noticed that the brackets on the new one were installed upside down from the way mine are. I put the seat back in and had a look, and I found that the bottom of the back didn't clear a structural member and it would hang up and bend, causing the cracking. I flipped them into the other orientation and that was better, but they still hung on another piece. As I investigated further, the part interfering seems to be something that was installed as part of an aux fuel tank installation in 1949! So now I am trying to figure out its purpose and locate the installation drawings. All it takes is time and money!
