My good friend (and gentleman) John Cooper sent me a link to an absolutely stunning panoramic photo of the recent Royal Wedding: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13200114. I was stunned by it and wondered how it was taken. Flash forward to today. Ginny and our friend Dabney decided that I wanted to visit the Portland Rose Garden. You know how that goes with girls and flowers. Unfortunately for the girls, we were about two weeks early, and scarcely a rose was in bloom. As I was blundering about looking at my watch and hoping the girls would get bored real soon, I noted a couple guys messing with some kind of camera set up. I wandered over and asked what they were up to. They were taking panoramic pictures with the set up in today's picture. They were from GigaPan, the company that makes the gadget (gigapansystems.com). I struck up a conversation with them and mentioned the cool pano photo John sent me. It turns out the photo was taken with their Epic Pro system and they knew the photographer who took the royal wedding picture. Small world! Very Cool!!

It was taken with just one of these devices. If you look very carefully you can see the edges of each frame.

That really is an incredible coincidence, meeting them.
Did they say if the wedding photo was taken with just one of these cameras, or a line of them ?.
