Next Thursday Ginny and I are heading out to Scotland for two weeks. I have been looking forward to this for about a year now. As part of the preparation, I have been going through the itenerary and marking the places we will be seeing on a road map. My mom sent me a whole bunch of maps of Scotland from her travels over there. It was difficult to find some of the places on the map, so I fired up Google Maps and used that to quite a good effect. Now that I have things mapped out, I can go back to the tour books and see what they have to say. I noted that we are definitely going through John O'Groats on our way to the Orkneys. I have been forewarned by my friend John Cooper to mind the midges there. We will be careful.
