I did a little experimenting today with my new Cannon G-11. I had set out originally to look at white balance, but I got to thinking I would like to see about noise. This composite photo is the G-11 at the top and the 5D Mk2 at the bottom. Also embedded is the whole frame. It is quite obvious tha the noise is significantly better in the 5D Mk2 shot than in the G-11. I didn't expect (or hope) that the G-11 would somehow be really good in this comparison. Both were shot in RAW at ISO 1600. The next test I want to do is to see if the G-11 is a lot better than the S-70. It better be!
