I took my new GPS out for a spin today. Programmed it to get me to Kroger's. It decided to take a circuitous route. I think the reason is that it has some algorithm for calculating the fastest route that always goes for the biggest road. I reset it to take the shortest route and it did better. It was fun to drive around and watch it recalculate the new route home each time I deviated. All in all it looks like it will be quite handy. Interestingly, it had our favorite burger joint (Miller's) in its restaurant database.

I hope John found some generic Tylenols or something.
I don't want to worry about him driving to the Rue De La something.
I hate stuff like that. i just hate it.

John, I just asked asked my Tom Tom (Sat Nav) where the nearest Doctor is.
Apparently it is Dr Pierre something in Rue De La something in Paris.
I dont think I will ask for a home visit.
(This is totally true John).

You are right Exzim, by the time I have personally paid for the next World Drug Performance Enhancing Games (2012 Olympics) and the Fairy Story Expenses of our leaders.
Driving a motor vehicle will be a historical memory.
Just off to pump up the tyres on my push bike before they tax that.

It would be fun to watch it perform in an airplane.

The first GPS I ever used came with a rental car in Germany. You could certainly imagine the female voice saying 'turn right or we know how to deal with you'. When I rented one in France the voice insinuated all sorts of imagined delights if I followed instructions. In the USA of course if you turn right you get a free subscription to Hannity, if you turn left you are directed to a certain Federal institution in Thompson, Illinois. In Canada it doesn't matter, no one knows where they are going in any case. In Putney unless you have paid £500 tax for supporting destitute politicians, you won't be allowed to drive anyway. In Renton all roads lead to the border to pick up a little BC Bud, no, not Budwiser. In notner of course, there is no need for GPS, they have road signs.
