About 6 pm this afternoon Pat called from the office and said that she had a crap day and that she was in dire need of some wine. Ginny fielded the call, as usual. I don't answer the phone normally. As a matter of fact when I actually answer the phone the caller thinks they have dialed a wrong number. Well, Ginny was busy searching online for garage sales tomorrow. That seems to be a regular activity for her. She and Pat like garage sales. I personally don't have much use for them since we already have a perfectly decent garage. Anyway, she shouted to me to see if we had some white wine in the fridge. Sure enough, there was a bottle of two buck Chuck already iced down.

So, Pat arrives and we go through the customary therapeutic hugs. Works for me. I am easy, but not cheap. I opened the bottle of two buck Chuck and poured a couple glasses for Ginny and Pat. Ginny asked if I wanted one for myself (she is very sharing) and when I declined, she was visibly relieved. I opened a bottle of two buck Chuck Shiraz for myself, knowing that the white stuff was definitely for the two females. The good thing about red wine is that you drink it at room temperature, so I am told.

I got out the camera and took some pictures. Ginny and Pat then proceeded to sit at the kitchen table and partake of a wine and whine etravaganza. I went upstairs to watch Fox News. A while later they wanted to see the pictures I took. I downloaded them to Lightroom and told the girls to select the one they wanted to have on pbase today. As an added goodie, I told them they could also ghost write today's words about the picture. They whined that they might want to do it tomorrow, but I insisted they do it right away. I fired up notepad and told them to have at it. OK, so here is what they wrote:

"Ginny and Pat having a w(h)ine."

Pretty damn lame in my estimation. This is why the best humor on pbase is written by males, IMHO. On the way out Pat asked if we were facebook friends. I was dumbfounded. How in the heck can you not know who your facebook friends are, especially if you are female and know everything about everything. I told her that we were not facebook friends. I am sitting here in utter awe and shock over this facebook thing. I am going to have to rethink my positions about the omnipotence of women. I am going to have to rethink my thoughts about how women can turn a two second conversation into an hour long discourse. It is going to be a long weekend of contemplation on my part, unless of course I go out to the airport and work on the Swift annual.

If you don't feel up to working on the annual, try consuming a few more bottles of two-buck Chuck.
