I went to bed around 1 am this morning. It was just starting to sprinkle a little rain. Not long after that we had a big storm. I mean a real big storm. About 6 in the morning I got up to check the rain gauge. It was at five inches. It rained another inch or two before it was all over. We didn't leave the house, so we didn't see the result of the downpour. There was massive street flooding in our area. It happens every time we have a storm like this. Lots of students were delayed getting to class because of the flooding. I have to chuckle a bit about my firends in the rest of the world where rain doesn't come in quite so large a rate of fall. It rains a lot in Oregon in terms of days of rain. They just seldom get it by the tank truck full.
