05-OCT-2009 Joe Tripod's Comrade in Arms

October 5, 2009

I got up at 5:30 as usual this morning. As I headed out to the kitchen to get the coffee going I noticed that the big bright moon was shining in the hall window. I thought to myself that this might be a good morning to go flying. I checked the weather and found the temperature - dew point spread was zero. Not a good sign. Regardless, I loaded my camera into the car and set out, stopping to get some gas on the way. As I got closer to the airport, I noticed that it was getting a bit overcast. I thought to myself, "Well, if I can't fly at least I will be able to shoot a sunrise, one of my favorite things." At the airport, it was very low cloud, below pattern level, so I got the camera out to await the sunrise. As you might imagine a sunrise with a low cloud cover does not make a good subject. As a matter of fact it was downright disappointing. So I figured I would set up and do a self portrait. At least I would have someting. That is what I did and this is what I got. I really need a better model for these self portraits. This guy is getting pretty worn around the edges.

John, you missed the chance to show off the beverage.

Now that you mention it, I guess so.

You look better wearing buckskin and holding a musket.
Is this a veiled attempt at product placement?

Its not only the edges John.
Not that I noticed.
Well, not much.
