Dave Beedon posted this image recently. It struck me that it was a flash shot of some sort. I was amazed when I went back to look what I had from that event (I had only one similar shot) and noted how dark the background appears in the photos. Interesting lighting conditions. The next photo is the full frame.
John - I am pleased to let you know that I was not actually on the beach. Dave and I were shooting from a very large pile of drift logs. My feet never touched sand (or sandstone!), honest.
