I was driving by Frys Electronics today, and these two boxes came flying out the front door and landed in the car. I decided to take them home. The HP Mini is a 1.6 GHz dual core processor with a 80 gig hard drive. It is about twice ths size of a TI-89 calculator. It runs Windows XP (Thank goodness, I hate Vista) It is wireless and blue tooth enabled. It was only $400. A great deal. Ginny and I were looking at some sort of digital photo backup to take with us to England in June. They were pretty expensive if you wanted to have a decent display to look at. For a little bit more I got this thing which is wonderful. It will just drop into the suitcase for travel. I am going to have fun with it.
I've been looking at the HP and the Acer. The Acer is nice, and a little cheaper but the mouse keys stick really badly on all the three models I tried. now just need an excuse to buy an HP.
I hate it when packages fly out of the store and land in one's car---where is the element of personal choice? That mini could put my Epson P-2000 out of work. Have a good time in England.
