All in all, it was a great day. The weather was great. I did a couple biennial flight reviews and just enjoyed riding around and looking at the ground. I ran into chempilot and ogled his new Nikon D700. Very cool. I did a bunch of shooting with the 5D Mk2. I was shooting airplanes with the 100-400 lens for a while. Airplanes are really my favorite subject (other than Ginny, of course). I shot this one of Alpha Charlie taxiing off the runway and thought that it will be interesting to see what it looks like on the big screen. Well, there was plenty of sun and the ground was heating up so there was a lot of "mirage" action going on. I thought it was kinda neat, so here it is.

exzim got to the heart of the matter. I advise a complete switch to Nikon.

Now john, don't kid us, it isn't the ground and air heating, its a Canon's focussing ability
