I got a front row seat at the train crossing today. I just turned up the music and watched, marveling at this wonderfully efficient mode of transportation. Many of the tank cars are dedicated to a single chemical, like this one full of ethylene oxide. I actually have quite a bit of experience with EO. It is definitely an inhalation hazard. It is also a fire hazard. It can BLEVE, that is Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf3WKTwHpIU&feature=related . It is a propane BLEVE, but EO would do the same.
