I managed to break the driver's side mirror on the mini van. Today the replacement arrived and I started putting it together. In the process of getting the door panel off, I broke a little piece of the handle, so I had to glue is back on. I don't know if it is going to hold. Anyway, I will put it back together tomorrow after the epoxy has cured completely.
and you are correct! The same thing goes for the airplane desirners who put prop governors and vacuum pump installations in such a position that you almost have to pull the dang engine to change them out.
I have changed quite a few wing mirrors for friends. Every one involved pulling off the door panels. World wide millions of people are pulling off door panels to change wing mirrors.
What are the chances that someday a vehicle manufacturer will employ someone with the intelligence to design a car door whereby you can change the wing mirror quickly and easily without removing aforesaid door panel.
I say it will never happen.
