Christchurch

Christchurch is an interesting town because it is the center of operational support for Antarctica. They fly a C-17 and a C-130 in support of operations there. There is also a great International Antarctic Center which has good exhibits and the opportunity to take a ride in a Hagglund, a vehicle that is used in Antarctica. As you are probably aware, Christchurch in September 2010. We were there about a month and a half afterward. It is not real obvious that there was an earthquake, but as you drive around you see fallen chimneys and the occasional fallen building. All of the buildings have had to be inspected to allow occupancy.
