In 1970 before Sassoons I worked at Crimpers in Baker St. The salon was outrageously amazing ,everyone smoked while cutting,the salon was dark except where you cut, the music was so loud conversation was futile yet most of rock royalty their wives girlfriends and mistresses came in to learn style from Lawrence who drove an ex army jeep ,looked like Cat Steven's good looking brother and hired me because he liked the coat I was wearing. Crimpers also had another star there called Michael Strumm ,amazing crimper.
