The 500 Cafe

The 500 Cafe in Atlantic City was a Mob controlled gambling and entertainment establishment that was in operation from the 1930's until it was destroyed by fire in 1973.
The photo folder shown here is from July 1945, the photograph shows one of the bands that includes Jackie Gleason on trumpet, Milton Berle on bass and singer/songwriter Benny Davis on vocals.
Inside the cover is a collection of autographs including Milton Berle, Jackie Gleason, Frankie Hyers and Elizabeth Ryan.
On the back cover there is the note, in the audience Tommy Ryan, Woody Herman and Joe Dimaggio
