Battleship North Carolina

Hello everyone.. I just thought I'd take a trip to get far away from Wisconsin's crappy weather so far this year.. The day I left, the Fox River, which is very near my home, flooded a little, but I wasn't expecting what happened after I left. A few days later, I find myself in a hotel room, 1500 miles from home, watching CNN in absolute shock as I recognize areas of my neighborhood under water! ....and that was the day I arrived in Wilmington North Carolina to visit the Battleship.

I had a lot on my mind as I was taking these pictures.. So I made an effort to make them look nice for my memories, that I'd like to share with fellow history buffs.. :-)

Great shots. It's too bad "service" has become a foreign word in this country. I proudly served on the Forrestal a few years before John McCain came aboard.

Great gallery thanks for sharing. I hope many will contemplate "freedom" and its sacrifices...
