Larry, the arrow is essential, there are a lot of droids in London.

The red arrow is only a suggestion. You don't have to look in that direction if you don't want to. It is mostly for droids.

John, If only our politicians were as good as those in "Yes, Minister". That would be a vast improvement.
Along this street there are hundreds of posts, lamp posts, and for traffic signs.
They are all along the edge of the pavement in a line
Why they put this one right in the path of the pedestrians is a mystery to any one with more than one brain cell.

Being from the colonies, I have little experience with the cosmopolitan ways of the people who rule Britannia currently. I have, however, seen many episodes of "Yes, Minister" and assume that is fairly representative of British public service. Anyway, we here in the outer edges of civilization might just paint the damn thing yellow and make sure there is adequate street lighting. We might also assume that if anyone ran into it they would be either a finalist for the Darwin Awards or just plain damn drunk.

No john, your camera was aimed exactly where it should have been.
Dave Beedon30-Mar-2007 22:18
John, the arrow tells you to aim your camera up and to the right, but you neglected to follow its instructions. Three cheers!
exzim30-Mar-2007 19:36
Or you wait until someone in a white skirt walks by and follow them.
John Cooper30-Mar-2007 18:04
If they do not John, they walk into the huge black pole that some N.F.B. official decided to put in the middle of a very busy pavement.
It looks ok in daylight, but nearly becomes invisible at night.
Especially if you do not have perfect vision. (common with us old people)
The bright red arrow was put in after complaints from damaged pedestrians.

this is nice. Why is everybody following the red arrow?
