Blatant LYING road signs.
John Victor Cooper

Blatant "LYING" road signs.

Putney, London

The official designation of the signs with a red bar on a white post. From the Department for Transport is "No through road for vehicles". This is utterly untrue here, you can drive down this road and out the other end off into the wild blue yonder.
This sign has been placed by the local council because they are so arrogant that they think they can decide who drives down roads, irrespective of any legal requirements.
This is Charlwood Road, Putney, London

Dave, It is a bad time to be in England. But if you can fly here for nothing, take the flight, the airlines normally charge a lot of money. We would decline your offer of help in making war on illegal road signs at the moment. The full list has not been prepared yet.

We lost the last bit of your previous transmission, the part about asking me for help or declining my offer. I'm already aboard the flight, so your prompt reply is vital (I don't want to fly to England for nothing if I can avoid it [the flying, not England]).

The best way to obscure a LYING sign, is to spray it with undercoat paint designed to etch plastic. Job done quick, sign destroyed, has to be replaced. Then you spray it again. At least that is what I have been told. I am of course totally law abiding.

Dear Aforesaid,
I'll be on the next non-stop flight from Renton Lift-off Center to Putney International Aerodrome. THIS battle takes precedence over THE Battle. Please advise my advance team as to the logistical requirements.
---Your faithful obscuring agent.

Dave, Only the inability to do so is stopping the aforesaid person from doing so.

I can visualize one or two persons, late at night, equipped with opaque plastic bags and duct tape (gaffer's tape), managing somehow to obscure the signs with said equipment. A step ladder would be helpful too. Then a follow-up photo could be posted here.
