Fight to the death.

These two birds were having the most vicious fight I have ever seen between two birds.
One seemed stronger than the other. But they disappeared into some bushes still fighting

I saw this type of thing only once before that I can remember. It was a mockingbird rumble that lasted a very long time with one from each group getting into the middle and fighting. This was in the Galapagos Islands. http://www.pbase.com/johncrossphotography/image/139324766

Larry, normally the birds seem to flap their wings at each other a bit, lots of squawking and then fly away. All for show.
These two were using their beaks like daggers, really striking hard. Also totally silent, no noise at all. Like I said it was so vicious I was amazed.
It was a shame they went away, still fighting, I would have been interested in the outcome.

Good catch. I didn't even know birds fought that viciously.
