The WHIZZ), I was also a Drummer and a Bugler,,met the Duke of Edinburgh in Nov 1969 in the Sick Bay as I had both legs in plaster from thighs to ankles (the ROBOT),, Went to College in Hull, got 1st CLASS PMG CERT, in RadioTelegraphy and BOARD OF TRADE RADAR MAINTENCE CERTIFICATE, joined T & J Brocklebanks AS A RADIO OFFICER, 3/1/1966 till 31/12/1971 and Emigrated to Australia 13/61972 and been here ever since !!!! My name is Paul Beards I was on the ship 1961 - 1962 friends i remember were Bill Baily and Ronald Fortune I came from Fortescue House school remember going ashore to the swimming pool sleeping in hammocks and playing bugle sounding reveille in the morning
and the boys boxing.

That's a photo of myself,- Jeff Littlewood; No.82 Top Port. I was on the boat 1960-63, and was the Drum Major in 62,- taking the Are' band all over Kent for exhibitions. From the Are' I joined Cunard ( Merchant Navy ) as a junior Engineer.
