Hammersmith Bridge

The bridge runs between the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham on the north side, and the borough of Barnes on the south side.
This is the second bridge on this site. Opened on the 11th of June in 1887 at a cost of 82,116.
It is 700 foot long, and 43 foot wide.
The IRA bombed it twice, once in 1939, and again in 2000.
The bridge shakes, rattles and rolls when the traffic is passing over it. The vibrations are incredible, you feel it will fall down any minute.
