Box Hill, Surrey

Box Hill is 634 feet high. There is a narrow road called the zig zag on the face of the hill. There is a small cafe and car park at the top of the hill. Also there is a fort beside the cafe, very small, not really a fort at all. The Stepping Stones are at the base of the hill, crossing the River Mole. The river runs along the base of the hill. Then turns off into the Surrey countryside at Burford Bridge. Box Hill is 18 miles from Putney by road.
