This zoom shows how round a Lesser Scaup head can be compared to a Greater. The bill shape and length differences aren't all that apparent from the angles the birds are facing either. Luckily, Lesser Scaup #3 spent most of his time with a typical Lesser Scaup head posture. The Lesser Scaup's head becomes much more compact and rounded as it prepares to dive.
