Love your pictures. I too am on the verge of deciding to get Pentax K100D - Is there a way I can look and your pictures and know what setting or lens was used? Thank you.

All I can say is that it is a very capable camera.. I think it would be more than fine for a first time DSLR user...

hey

I really enjoyed looking through all your photo galleries. I just wanted to know if i should get a k100. I've been doing a lot of research, and this is the camera that i kinda settled for, but it's taking forever to come out. Would it be better if i got different kind of camera? I'm kinda new to the SLR world, and I dont really know which camera is best for me. Is the pentax k100 the best Choice for beginner like me?

give me your best opinion

thanks

Ohh and yes the AF is faster than the DS, no doubt on that.. It's about on par with the D maybe slightly better (though louder than the D)..

Yaniv..

- Are you missing the pentaprism?
I thought I would but the viewfinder in the K100D although smaller is slightly brighter and it didn't take me long to forget about the size difference.

- JPEG quality
You can still loose some detail when you use bright mode as the saturation is pretty high, but overall the JPEG quality is higher than the DS/DL/D..

- Writing reading speed
Feels about the same as the DS i think.. Much faster than the D but so was the DS ;-)

- Body comfort
I think it about as comfortable as the DS, at least for me it is really no better or worse.

- I love the size of the LCD ;-) it looks great very bright and viewable easily from all angles, but I guess it isn't necessary, just nice to have..

Hi, great photos.
I see you have the *ist DS and also the K100D, and I wanted to ask you how you would compare the two cameras (other than the SR). I just bought the *ist DS about 2 weeks ago and love it. I was very tempted to wait for the K100D but decides to go with the DS (bigger VF, bigger buffer and $100 cheaper). I got the 50-200mm lens yesterday and played around with it indoors and outdoors and find it expremely difficult to get a sharp photo at 200mm without a tripod or some sort of support or high iso. I might still be able to return it and get the K100D instead.
- Are you missing the pentaprism?
- Is the AF faster as I read some people report?
- Is the jpeg quality better (the bright finish)?
- Is writing/reading speed faster?
- Is the body more/less comfortable?
- Is the bigger LCD really necessary / helpfull?

Thanks for your advice,
Yaniv
