Scanned photos from the 1980's & 1990's.

The purpose of this gallery is (partly) to show some of what has long since disappeared. Some of the photos show abandoned buildings, waiting to be torn down to make way for new development. A whole area of St. John's around Brazil Square was wiped from existence between the 1960s and the 1980s. Today, St. John's has a much more vibrant and brighter appearance with much emphasis placed on heritage restoration. The quality of the scans can be somewhat lacking, but this also serves to give a more retro look.
