Anyone that has driven through Balko, OK knows that one does not think of amphibians in this place. It is normally quite hot (in summer), or quite cold (in winter), and almost always dry. But one night driving through to the Black Mesa, it rained pretty hard, and the spadefoots were out in force. This one was one of many in a ditch next to the gas station.
