Uzbekistan is located in Central Asia and its a former Soviet republic. The Republic of Uzbekistan is a doubly landlocked country and shares borders with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
For thousands of years the area of Uzbekistan was a part of the Persian Empire. Today Uzbekistan possesses the largest military force in the Central Asian region.
Last bomb incidents in the country were in July 2004 when Islamic militants suicide bombers targeted U.S. and Israeli embassies in Tashkent, right when I was on the country making this project.
