well well well, isn't it great how we find it easier to unite and speak freely about what not to do. to me the photos are just photos. jorgen (dot dot,on the "o"), thank you, not for your choice of photos but because of all the fun i had reading the comments. people of earth you have inspired me to write a comment of my own.... i am a 27 year old male who lives in australia, maybe the education here isn't that great cause to be honest with you i cant really define what a capatalist/communist/democratic/hypocratic/socialist/etc country is or which countries are which. who's better? who's worse? does it really matter? as long as were all out there giving life a go. i challange anyone to live a life were the whole world agrees with the way they live it. impossible. from the words of "WeeDie" (comment below) we all depend on each other. a few homeless PEOPLE proved that to us all. through all the bad times that they might of had in there life, they can still sit back and smile about one thing that no amount of opinions, stares, or comments from any of us can ever change. "CHOICE" they choose to have sex in the street and i'm damm proud of them(refer to jorgen's pic named "The Goddess Alive") thank you again jorgen for choosing to take photos and thanks to all of you who choose to speak your mind without knowing the consequences of your choices. .........pipsalot........whats the worst that could happen?

This is a wierd gallery. I hate tramps, they stink and are useless airwasters. And to the dickhead who called them Communists, if you ever visited a Communist country you will see that there are no tramps/bums/hobos at all. You don't even know what Communism is, I bet you are a 10 year old who has heard about how Communism is shit, probably an American or Brit. I typed in Stokholm to see some photos of a city I was hoping to visit in a year or so, but now that I have seen this, I think I will visit Oslo instead :P.

Dang, these kids are true rollers. I think we need more of em! Release 'em to every major city in the world and see the affects. They truly look like people who have been to many places and never lost their spirit. Comfortable in their own shoes is what everybody should go for. I like the quality of the pictures and don't let anyone tell you that their "too provocative". Sometimes if the situation calls for kinkiness then let it out and show it all. I don't care about seeing these kind of things in public. I think that society can use a little toughening up. Legalize boobs! Who gives a flyin f* about nudity in public? Who cares if this family lives like bums? Who cares if there careless? I don't. I'm glad I got a chance to speak out, cause who the f* cares? My honest opinion about this gallery of photos of this trippy bohemian family is, well, for one I'd wouldn't mind running into them one day, two the dready girl is way attractive, and that naked dude is f****** hung like a horse... and thats about it. Your work is wonderfull. When I did read the name of the gallery, I thought: OOPS, please, no. But I love this gallery. It's like giving people the dignity (back) they deserve, or even somehow creating their dignity. It's like crossing a border without stealing people's pride or just showing them up. Thank you Jennifer for your comment on my pictures and friends. I think the best thing to help these homeless people or bums as you called them is to see them as spirit souls. Then we can see them and ourself in clear light. Right now I will continue to show my pictures on internet even if there is no artistic quality in them. I have learned alot about human and conscuisness this month. Much thanks to all comments on this page. Thank you all! The persons I meet and take a picture of are all wounderful spirit souls sharing my time on this planet earth. Love and happy peace!

They really should abstain because in the long run, having unprotected sex is going to cost them a hell of a lot more than to just have to provide for themselves on a daily basis. These bums protesting is good but the fact that they started having sex just perpetuates many public stereotypes about bums: they're dirty all the time, they're careless, they don't care what they do in public, they're improper, etc. How are they going to bring about any kind of resolution? No one will take them seriously if this is the way they chose to "protest". Posting these pictures on the internet does nothing for the bums' cause. This is just a "cheap thrills" sort of thing. This space could be better used by maybe coming up with an online petition and telling people what they could do to help these people such as where one can donate old clothing, hygeine products, canned and non parishable foods, etc. to help these people out. Its true that some bums are where they are because they made stupid choices in their lives but not all of this is true. Its a little much for some people to say they hate bums for not getting their lives together. Its not so easy. But I am not going to deny that certain homeless people simply are too lazy or don't want help. To the individual who said he'd kill the homeless, that's just extremely absurd and childish. What I believe is hypocracy is that most people can´t realize that capitalism at its best has a high unemployment rate... If managing to lower salaries, they can still get the same production from a lower cost. And what happens when the production goes up, and nobody can buy the merchandize? US go to war... buying the goods, with the salary taxes, from the companies. (One would think that the prices would decrease, however this is an illusion, since the price is actually the "same", BUT MORE PEOPLE ARE UNEMPLOYED!) The very object of a socialist rule is to counteract this effect...

The federal government has been taking all the tax money withheld for my retirement and has been using it to pay for the military. Alan Greenspan ( The only honest man in Washington?) stood up and announced a few weeks ago that our retirement system ( Social Security Administration) is almost bankrupt. In short.. I will have to work for the rest of my life...No retirement! This refers to a previous comment I made " To stop bitchin' about taxes". We've got it much worse here in "The States". About 35% of our earnings go to taxes. A good part of our tax money goes to fund a very large military. We need the military so we can interfere in the business if our neighbors in the world...But we don't take care of the people at home. Makes perfect sense doesn't it? -- This is only one americans opinion ! ---

What's the point of insisting that Sweden is so great compared to other countries. Does that make things better? I can't see how. And all the talk about free will is quite low level. The "homeless people also have a sexlife" action was a fun thing. And if it manage to highlight the situations of homeless people then it's even better. It doesn't matter if someone doesn't have a home due to something one would describe as "free will" or if someone doesn't because of someone elses will or "free will" - we should all try and make things better for everyone because we are all very dependend of eachother, and the happiness of oneself relies on the happiness of other people. Speaking of capitalism...the idea behind capitalism is that money control the means. Now, It should be obvious to everyone that capitalism without socialism will exploit, destroy and poison people, environments and animals all over the world because it is possible to make money doing this in the short-term. So if we want this planet to be able to host the human being also in the future the economic systems can not only be run by capitalistic ideals but must also integrate socialistic ideals, at least until all individual customers are aware enough to make it impossible for people to make money on destroying things that we depend on - something I can't see will ever happen. It suprises me to see how few people manage to realise this. It's the objective truth, not mumbo jumbo.

From " The States " Beautiful gallery photos I would think you might have a little more understanding of your homeless people though. Many have drug addictions of mental illnesses. They just are not capable of functioning in society....So they do the best they can. People always do. The true measure of a society is how well it provides for it's weakest members. And 'a normal salary of 22000 sek'? I'm sorry, but a lot of poeple don't make that kind of money. My last job was very well paid, but I still didn't make that much. Most teachers don't either, as an example. And, yes, income tax is 30-34%, correct. But that isn't the only tax we pay. I'm not complaining about paying taxes, I'm just telling you the facts. See David's comment if you wonder what I am referring to. And also, as David said, the tax-money isn't spent like it should be. Yidaki: Who says we are? On a sidenote; dont even try to compare homeless people in sweden with homeless people outside the norse. Noone starves to death in sweden, noone freezes to death, noone wont get treated at the hospital because they dont have a healthinsurance. Being homeless in sweden is only as bad as its streets. I would prefer being homeless in Bahamas or something myself, cause I cant stand the cold, but then I would probably not make it...

Not to forget, if you are active in sweden, its cheaper to live here. Free healthbenefits from your employer, free insurances from your school, and more then enough money when you get retired. Well, it depends on what generation youre born in, ofcourse. But in general, paying taxes works. And, I'd say its because we dont have corrupt politicians, like in Italy and USA. (we have corrupt politicians like in Norway ;)) No system is perfect, but just try to give me a socialistic and democratic solution that is better then the way sweden works right now :)

If you believe that the tax in Sweden is 30-34% you have completely bought the propaganda they teach in Swedish high schools. The average tax, employer and emplyee tax combined is 51%. Add a sales tax of 25%, real estate tax, fuel tax etc and the tax is close to 70%. These huge amounts of monies is NOT properly spent on schools nor health care. The governments top priority is without doubt the benefits and transfers to for example the unemployed. There are cases of unemployed people getting a higher unemplyment benefit than they would earn if getting a job, hence they don't work, and even higher taxes must be enforced. Today there was this thing on the news where the hospital could not afford a $40k operation to cure a deaf ear on a child. The parents pay $10k+ in taxes every year but its not being returned to them. The absurd thing is that the parents are not even allowed to pay for the operation to have it done. They will have to go to another country for the procedure. Is that freedom?

Some clarification: Average salary in Sweden is just over 19,000 SEK. Regarding taxes Swedes pay much more than the 30-34% you mention, Magnus. From your gross income 31% is taken before you even see your money (assuming that you're not running your own business, then you'll notice) and 25% VAT is generally added on all things you purchase. This results in taxes exceeding 60%! Healthcare, school, roads etc. only makes up for a minor part of the public sector financing, Sweden spend less on healthcare than most developed countries! The major part of the public finances is made up from transfers for retirement, unemployment and sickness cover. The small fee you pay for jobless support accounts for only 10% of the real costs. This means that if you work and for some reason isn't entitled to get money you still have to finance it. The real reasons for high taxes in Sweden is not altruism but a means to gain power over peoples lives and form a society desired by the political elite.

Show me someone in sweden that has to pay that percentage in taxes. A normal salary of about 22000 sek per month results in about 30-34% in tax depending on where in sweden you live. Tax isn't a penalty, it's what we pay for free healthcare, roads, schools, infrastructure. No you can't just not work and make a good living out of it. People do get money if they are between jobs but usually they have paid sort of an insurance before, wile they were working. If they don't have that "insurance" they can get money to uphold basic standard of living from social security departments. If you're between jobs and refuse to take jobs that are offered you will ultimatly be denied money. Yes sweden has a high incometax but when I compare what we get out of the money we pay in tax and what my american friends has to pay besides the tax(insurances etc) they pay it usually adds up pretty well. Yes, there are a few homeless people who are homeless by choice, but most of them are in that situation because of something else. For example you could have a look at the statistics over how many of the homeless that have mental problem, how many are from workingclasshomes (and the compare it to how many are from upper- and middleclasshomes) and also consider what kind of relationship many of these people have to their relatives and their immediate familiy among many other factors. One or a few of these factors could affect your ability to live a normal life and deal with paying rent, staying away from alcohol (it's an illness, not a choice), behaving in an acceptable way when living in an appartment etc. And the mental helath care can't help everyone, it is basically on it's knees already from having so many people to care for...believe me, I know. Pull yer heads out of yer arses and realise it could've been you if you weren't so lucky. Or perhaps your cousin, your girl/boyfriend or some other friend. "Inte gett upp!": Alla klarar inte av trycket, på grund av faktorer som de ovan. och är man inte ens född med en plastsked i munnen så...ja. And Samuel, would you please care to explain how socialist scum is ruining Sweden? I'm not talking about teenagers refusing to work and claming socialism as an excuse, but "real" socialists who try to do their best and are part of workforce. While I partly agree with the speach on how socialist scum is ruining Sweden, and while I also feel everyone have a choice, even if the choice is between being a homeless drunkard or living on medication for the rest of your life - it's still a choice. I can fully understand people that give up, because not everyone is so lucky to have caring relatives and/or friends. Since it's really hard to get a job today, approximately 5% (on 9 million people) is currently unemployed. After almost a year of economical aid for being unemployed, your only choice, besides succeeding in getting a job, is to live on social care. The rich keep getting richer, and the poor... well, they are still poor. The rich transfer their money to other countries or invest their money in stuff like art, where taxes can't reach them. Politices refuse to address the problem, and while I think this act of love was rather disgusting and degrading, it's really not the bums you should throw bricks at... try the source. Still, maybe they had a choice and made the wrong one, but now they are beyond reintrodusion to the working life. Having to pay high taxes even when you are well below living standard as I am, although I have my own computer, can turn anyone down. Actually, experts have shown that low-waged people pay some 90% of the taxes in Sweden. The really high-waged people sometimes have a taxable income of nothing. Still they drive their fancy cars and let their spolied brats empty bars on weekdays... What's even worse is that the majority of Sweden seem to be a miniature US complex, where government is controlling what the media majority will say, even on foreign subjects, such as the war on Iraq. Visit another european country for a few months, and catch up with what's being said about you home country. It can be a ground-breaking experience...

If they can't afford it, the government will pay for an apartment. The thing is, that they often want extremelt expensive apartments in central Stockholm, like Old Town and such. There are a lot of empty apartments all over Sweden, even at places where they often have to change their way of live, like giving up prostitution and drugs (I'm speaking generally, not about these two). I believe that society needs to be able to give them a home, but really shouldn't have to listen to what they demand. When they provide for themselves, they should be able to make demands..

Hi, We had to phone to the police ourself. They came after an hour and they did´nt really know what to do so it was first after half hour more, the piketbus come and the happy police took the couple and drove them to the social. The social offered them a room so they could have some private enjoyment. After half an hour the couple where free to go. The bed The group had been on sergels torg for two days with furnitures and bed and a fire in protest of the treatment of the homeless in stockholm. When the police came and took the fire from them, they got cold. When it´s cold it´s nice to come together and from there, sex is not far away. The responce on place was mostly positiv. After three publications in swedish and finish evening papers we got a lot of positiv responce. There will come up more pictures from us very soon. You`ll never know what´s next. Thank´s all!
