This is pretty much a tamed down vision of my recall of my one time ice fishing. The dead of winter, north of Grand Forks, North Dakota. A one hour drive to the lake in a car with cold air leaking in around the doors, I was frozen by the time we got there. Had to shovel the car out of a snow bank when trying to drive it out onto the lake (a first for me; in a car in the middle of a lake). Then, once on the lake, we had to auger the hole with a hand auger shielded from the wind by only the small car. Once that is done, we get to go get bait from some guy sitting in a heated wooden hut on the lake with a floor and trap doors where he is fishing, and a power auger is leaned in the corner.
Needless to say, not my favorite sport!
