This looks right to me Jack, no shadows, good illumination and skin tones, complimentary lighting balance.

This portrait looks very nice to me. I am far from an expert on lighting, so can't help you there. But the background looks very nicely lit, there are no unpleasant shadows, and you are two very nice looking, pleasant-looking people.
