Easter Sunday, April 1st, 1945 was when the largest amphibious invasion in history took place when the U.S. Marines landed on Okinawa.

I love his grin here, Jack. Terrific portrait. I add my thanks to your dad and all who served, as well. My dad was on Iwo Jima, but not during the main battle, though he certainly had stories to tell of the action he saw.

I am a big fan of the history channel. I have watched the historical video and stills taken by the military photographers of the landing and the battle for Okinawa. It was a very tough time for all who took part in that battle imposibile for me to image. If I could I would shake your father's hand and thank him. The background in this well executed shot is fitting. Your father is a hero in my books. BZ BZ BZ
