I like to compare different photos on the same subject (one of advantages of digital photography, when no cost involved). As you know, I take a few photos of any subject I choose and than live in doubts, which one is better... Your two photos of wind turbines looks to me taken almost from the same point, but definitely, very different. The picture through car window(?), the picture with rain, is more intimate, more 'view form inside' with feel of appreciation of been cozy and not wet, the feel, that you are viewer, not a participant... and the other one gives a chilly feel that you are part of this stormy scenery...
No preferences, both are good.
