I rented a car and drove around South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. It was a great trip- I explored the beautiful and desolate Skeleton Coast, the Namib desert, Cape Town, Bulawayo... was thrown in jail for auto theft (I was innocent), narrowly escaped a carjacking, and went down into the world's largest platinum mine posing as a contractor. And of course I met lots of interesting characters.
