Common Colors

This picture (refer to the internal squares) demonstrates what common colors encountered indoors and outdoors look like. By the way, the "computer room" is based on halogen lighting, not incandescent.

The composite picture demonstrates what the camera sees - the colors are all over the map. If your camera offers "Manual White Balance" capability, use it whenever convenient (automatic white balance has a very hard time compensating for all the variations encountered in illuminants).

If your monitor's white point is set to approximately 6500 °K, the luminance (FtL) of each of the four central color squares are equal.
