My involvement (or lack of it) with EOSpix should be explained BECAUSE I've said some nice things in this gallery about the EOSpix profile for the 1DmkII camera. Some time ago I purchased an EOSpix profile for my 10D and was blown away by how well it worked on my high DR (dynamic range) scenes of the southwestern USA. The EOSpix 10D profile made the 10D shots feel like they were coming out of my 1DmkII (I believe everybody reading this text knows the 1DmkII has superior DR compared to the 10D).

Anyway, I sent John (the EOSpix guy) an e-mail and asked if there was ever going to be a profile for the 1DmkII and he said a camera was not available. Well, I have an IT8 target and asked if I provided test shots from three 1DmkII bodies would he consider developing a 1DmkII profile (and he said "yes").

So here we are today and I'm a VERY happy customer with my new EOSpix profile for my 1DmkII. Yes, I said "customer" (as in paying customer) - I am not connected with John in any way except for my greedy desire to have a better profile for my 1DmkII and shooting a few pictures of an IT8 target.

For anybody interested, this gallery presents quite a few examples of high DR scenes comparing EOSpix 1DmkII renderings to that of other profiles (e.g. the RSP internal profile, Adobe's ACR, and ETC-V100 for RSP).
