The camera gear was set on a tripod. I watched the bird for a while (perhaps fifteen minutes as it perched on different branches) and attempted to anticipate its flight. With luck the bird was accommodating by staying in the frame allowing for a crop. As I recall, I attempted to pan with the flight of the bird.

How do you aim your camera with the big heavy 600mm f/4L to freeze this fast moving bird?
