A Very Good Night
We don’t drink. Very rarely do we even have alcohol in the house. It’s not so much that I have anything against it, it just doesn’t hold anything for me.
Tonight Staci decides, out of the blue, that she is going to buy a bottle of wine. Now, when I do drink, I never drink wine. Ever. Just never had a taste for it.
She comes home, puts the kids to bed, and cracks out two glasses. We get on the couch and put a movie in, Christmas Vacation. While it’s starting I notice something. It’s quiet. It’s quiet and it’s just us. We never do this. We never have time for us. I’m always working or the girls have soccer or Ella needs us or…..you get the idea.
We polish off the bottle and finish the movie. It was kind of nice. Just us. No worries, no kids, just us and the Griswolds. I told her we should do this more often.
We all really should you know. That’s your assignment. A bottle of wine, a good movie, just the two of you, and one shutter click. Slow down for one night and forget about all of the holiday stress. Forget about the bills. Forget about anything else you have going on in your life. Just for one night. It’s amazing how good it feels.
Post the shots in your PaD. If you don’t I won’t believe you ever did it.
