This gallery shows the process of installing a geothermal heating/cooling/hot water system in a 1957 home in August 2010. As you can see, it is a huge undertaking. We hope to reap the benefits of going green for decades to come as we reduce our carbon footprint. Click on "slideshow" in the upper right corner to see the project in progress.
October 2013 update:
We have been using this system for three years now and we are extremely happy that we had it installed. In September 2012 we went a step further and went online with a 6.37 Kw solar electric array to have the sun help power the geothermal system. The combination of the two systems is a great success. Our combined total electric bill for May, June, July, August, September and October was $150. This is a great way to reduce dirty energy usage and save a ton of money on utility bills. I wonder why more folks don't do it especially in light of the 30% Federal tax credit and the Missouri electric utility rebate?
